How do Mobile Phones with Free Laptop Deals Work?

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Most shoppers today are naturally quite distrustful when it comes to deals that appear too good to be true.  This is certainly the case when it comes to mobile phone free laptop deals because not that many people believe that they can get anything for free, particularly not something as valuable as a fine quality laptop.  The reality is though that offering free laptops with mobile phones makes a lot of sense to mobile phone companies because they will always be able to make the cash back somewhere.  Here are a couple of the main methods that that outlets make back their cash when they provide you with free laptops.

First of all, if you are purchasing an expensive contract then the company will decide that it is worth their while to pay for the laptop out of their own profits because they know that they will make a large amount of money back from you in the long run.

As an example, if the retailer knows the contract will be worth a certain quantity a month for the subsequent 2 years then it is quite happy to take a percentage of its profits and put it towards providing an incentive for you to get it through them.  The retailers can’t change the price of the contract but they can make it more attractive for you to buy thru them.

The other way that shops make their cash back when they offer free laptops is to give you a cheaper handset.  While the company can’t adjust the monthly costs that the mobile phone firms have set they can provide you with a less expensive handset if you aren’t really interested in having an up-to-date mobile phone.  In turn they’ll then provide you with a free laptop meaning that both the consumer and the retailer get a better deal.

Finally, the fact that there are mobile phone free laptop deals available shows just how competitive the retail market for mobile phones is.  The different shops can’t adjust the price of your contract so they have to find other ways of gaining an advantage over their competitors.  This is astounding stories for the consumer because it means they’re much more certain to get superb deals such as free laptop and mobile phone offers.  You must remember though that it always pays off to search around and see which deals you can get as the outlets always trying to outdo one another.

Some Good Benefits Of Selling Old Mobiles

Saturday, March 6th, 2010

Because it’s become far easier to sell old mobiles for cash recently there are many more people doing it.  there are still too many phones being disposed of.  The real reason the government need us to recycle phones isn’t so that we get money but so we can help the environment.  There’s a gigantic issue with mobile phones being discarded and then ending up in landfills explaining why when you sell old mobiles for cash you can also be certain that you are also helping the environment.

It’s a fact that each and every year around 80 million phones are thrown away and the vast majority of these end up in rubbish heap sites.  This would be a big problem in itself even if mobile phones failed to contain harmful chemicals that would potentially leak out into the surrounding habitat.

The main problem though is that discarded mobile phones that finish up in landfill sites regularly leak different sorts of toxic waste into the ground which can then find their way into water systems.  Mobile phones usually contain different sorts of damaging metals as well like lead and nickel which are also bad for the environment.  These metals - if they do find their way into the water supply - could cause significant health Problems as well as being a potential fire danger in landfills.  Because folk are becoming more and more fascinated by getting the latest phones the number of phones that are being thrown away every year is on the rise and is the reason why government are so avid to be sure that we recycle as many as practicable.

The most typical health Problems that can be caused by the metals and other sorts of damaging materials from dropped mobile phones are neurological.  However , in a few cases they may also cause issues with reproduction and other heavy issues like liver Problems.

For these reasons it’s always a better idea to sell your old mobile to corporations that may recycle them instead of just bin them or leave them to assemble dust in a drawer somewhere.  You should use caution the company you choose has good environmental testimonials and can assure you that the phones you sell them will never end up in rubbish heap sites.  So long as you choose a company that is known to be environmentally friendly then you shouldn’t have any issues when you sell old mobiles.

Couple Sell their New Baby for a Mobile Phone

Thursday, February 25th, 2010

A young Chinese couple from the Chongqing Municipality are reported to have sold their newborn baby for 2,500 yuan ($366) and then used the money to purchase a new cellphone.

The story reported by the Chongqing Economic times tells us that the child’s 19 year old mother, Zhang Yao, met her 21 year old boyfriend Xin online. Young love flourished and Zhang was soon pregnant, giving birth to a healthy baby girl in November.

The couple believed that they wouldn’t be able to afford to raise the child and so, only six days after the baby was born, they sold the little girl to a man who gave his name as Li Yong.

A police investigation revealed that the child’s parents, Zhang and Xin, spent most of their time on the internet and neither were employed. Their parents were unable to offer any financial support and this led to them deciding to sell their newborn baby girl.

The parents are reported to now regret having sold their newborn baby and the mother, Zhang, has said that she kept crying after being parted from her baby and that she now wants to raise a child. The father, Xin, asked police officers if he could now take the baby back from the welfare center where the little girl is currently being cared for.

The staff at the welfare center where the baby is being cared for have said that she has a healthy appetite, is very well behaved and is not afraid of strangers.

Police in the Longsha district have said that they hope that the family can be re-united and that the baby will be back with her parents very soon.

Police are currently investigating whether anyone can be charged as the selling of children is a criminal offence in China.

This latest shocking story from China is the latest case in which a very young couple have fallen into parenthood without any planning or thought for how they would support their newborn child.

Anti Social Phone Conversations

Do you Practice Proper Mobile Phone Etiquette?

Here in the developed west nearly everyone now has a moble phone. But it should be remembered that around half of the world’s population have never made or received a telephone call.

This fact highlights the technological gap that exists between the developing countries and those lucky enough to have affordable access to modern communication technology.

But there are plenty of people who believe that mobile phones are actually more of a scourge and not very useful. Have you recently used any form of public transport?

I routinely travel by train to and from London and I’m forced to listen to various telephone conversations that, before the mobile phone revolution, would have never taken place. On my homeward journey I regularly listen to people calling their partners just to tell them: ‘I’m on the train’. And I see and hear the same people making the same calls with the same pointless message every day. What did they use before mobile phones, carrier pigeons?

I’m also often forced to listen to the conversations of teenagers who appear to speak a different language. More often than not they are criticising their boyfriends, talking about what they’ve seen on television or describing some aspect of their boring, empty lives. In one conversation that was heard recently a young lady described a recent sexual experience with a young man in far too much detail. As she proceeded to describe her experience in far too much detail everyone in the compartment was squirming with embarassment.

Forcing other people to listen to one side of your telephone conversation is just one aspect of modern mobile phone use that is incredibly annoying. Another is people who use their mobiles to play their music far too loudly without any thought for others who might not like hip hop music.

We all need to be reminded of how lucky we are to even own mobile phones. People who use their mobile phones to describe their sex lives should be banned from owning them.

Brilliant iPhone Apps

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

These apps are just some of best apps out there that can be found on the iPhoner. Some of them are really very useful indeed whereas the others are just plain strange.

AroundMe

This is great for everyone who has an iPhone as it allows you to see things nearby that could be of a very good use to you indeed. This is handy if you are stuck in a location that you are not too sure of as it can give you directions to fuel stations, hotels or even hospitals. It can not only show you things of use but leisuire things to do like movie theatres and bars and clubs.

Fake Call

This is something that could be very useful for people who have to attend a lot of dull meetings in which they need an excuse to get out of. The great thing about this is that it stays on your mobile and will not use up any credit or minutes so you just need to to install it and your set. For the meetings that you simply must get out of this is really good as it will look like there is actually someone calling you on the other end.

Red Laser

The app itself is good as it saves you looking around for the best deals. The great thing about this app is that there is hardly anyone who does not want to find anything for a cheaper price. This will actually allow you to scan any barcode you want to look for cheaper prices. The best thing you can use this for is to compare prices on entertainment items like music and games.

Of course this is not going to help you if you drop the phone which is when you are going to need mobile phone insurance or perhaps even gadget insurance as this will cover you from other things too. It is also good to remember that you could be getting insurance on another important gadget so look into getting something like laptop insurance

Don’t Lose Your Vital Business Contacts

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

If you are in business for yourself you will already understand the importance of networking and contacts. Our mobile phones have become our personal assistants, keeping lists of our contacts, to do lists and agendas. But do we back up this valuable business data in case of loss or damage?

Mobile phone providers have estimated that fewer than 15% of users actually back up their telephone data. Its worth taking a few moments to consider what would happen if you lost all of the contact details you have on your mobile phone. Do you have all of these details stored elsewhere?

These days I back up my telephone data daily. But this is a relatively new routine for me that I established after having lost my mobile phone while hiking one weekend. The business impact of this loss was huge. I’d built up a whole load of valuable business contact details on my cell phone. The cost to my business of my losing these was immense. This is why I now have a daily cell phone backup routine. And I have my phone covered with mobile phone insurance to pay for a replacement the next time I lose it, which is bound to happen sooner or later.

If you are wondering about how to back up the valuable data on your cell phone the first place to look is the applications that came with your phone. Most phones are supplied with some computer applications that will allow you to sync your phone with your computer. If, or when, you lose or replace your cell phone it should be a simple task to re-sync with the data copied to your computer.

Best Mobile Phone For You

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

The financial crisis affected the spending habits of shoppers, which reflected on decreased sales and profits for businesses.  With money as tight as ever and the prices of goods and services becoming unstable, more and more people are holding on to their wallets and they are cutting costs where and when they can.

The mobile phone is as good a start as any.  Today’s market is saturated with all kinds of mobile phones—from cheap basic models to high tech ones. Before the global economic slowdown, a billion dollars was spent on mobile phones.  One thing is for sure, all these mobile phones can do the job just as well as the next one.  So, with this in mind, where do people go if they need a phone that is light on the budget but looks like a million bucks?  Before getting a fast loan or breaking a piggy bank for some cash to buy a nifty mobile phone, would-be buyers should first do a bit of research about which phone fits their needs or lifestyle. People who use mobile phones experience the convenience and reassurance of getting in touch with anyone.

Before buying a mobile phone, people should first figure out how they would use it.  When deciding to buy a mobile phone, the brand or usage plan is not that important as how it will be used by the owner.  Here are some useful questions to ask before buying a mobile phone. These questions could help the buy concludeon which mobile phone fits their budget and communication needs.

Is it for calling convenience or extension of work via internet connection?
•    How much will the phone be used?
•    Is the phone to be used more for calls, texting, or connecting to the internet?
•    What additional features, aside from calls, does the user require?

In today’s world, mobile devices are not just for making and receiving calls.  One of the causes of stress for would-be buyers is the features of mobile phones.  No one phone provides all the features available in the market. Many have cameras or FM radios, while others include bluetooth capability.  So the most important question for buyers is what exactly do they want from their phones?  Once they have decided on that, it’s time to buy.  Come to think of it, it’s easier to get a cash loan nowadays than pick a brand new mobile phone!

Mobile Phones – An All Round Great Invention

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

It is not hard to believe that most people around the world (whether young or old) own a mobile phone. It is estimated that approximately 2.7 billion people own a mobile phone and over 80 million text messages are sent every day. Wireless technology has been around since the 1940’s and is fundamentally the grandfather of the current mobile.Indeed, the first public mobile phone call was made by Martin Cooper, from the company Motorola, in 1973.

It is not hard to recognise that mobiles have come some distance since the 1970’s. Where would we be without the applications and accessories that come with the current models of phones? The truth is that the technological advances have made the mobile much more than an object for making phone calls.

One thing that a handset is useful for is text messaging. Many a teenager can type a message using the predictive text tool without so much as blinking; it really is a popular way of keeping in touch. Millions of us can now enjoy the freedom of using a mobile phone to stay in contact with colleagues, friends and family. Perhaps in part, the text messaging facility has made us more aware that it is easy and important to stay in touch with those in our lives.

Currentmobiles also allow us to listen to our favourite music. Essentially it is having a phone and mp3 player merged into one. It is possible with many models to download and store music; it is then simply the case of plugging in headphones and away you go!  Downloading free ringtones is just one of the ways that someone can enjoy music on their handset.  It is a way of making our mobile phone personal to you and shows others something about you as an individual. For those of us who are part of the older generation, it may also come in handy to alert you to the fact that it is our phone that is ringing, not someone else’s!

As well as the different kinds of music we can choose to appreciate on our mobile phones, we can also play our own compositions. By using a ringtone maker we can add our own range of music onto our mobile phones. You can download some special software from many sites in order to do this. It is also possible to send the music files you want directly to your handset by way of e-mail, Bluetooth and text messaging. It is simple to undertake this process and a speedy search of the internet will locate many free ringtone maker providers. Many handset owners prefer to make their mobile special to them; and using the ringtone maker software allows this to happen.

As well as these popular uses, the mobiles of today present a range of facilties that just make everyday life so much easier. Even the most basic of mobiles have useful tools such as calendars, calculators, weight converters, video recorders and cameras. Many of the top-of-the-range mobile phones let us have so much more. From internet access to GPS, from games to current news, the mobile phone has come a long way in such a short space of time. it is fair to say that the mobile is one of the best inventions ever made and is set to continue its reign for many years to come.

Phones of the Future

Friday, August 14th, 2009

The mobile phone marketplace is developing at enormous speeds; the market is an ever changing one and one that is in a billion dollar industry. If we contrive our minds back over a decade ago, you will recollect that phones did one thing and one thing only and that was to ring a phone number.

If you now think of the current day handset, you will acknowledge that you can literally do anything and everything on them, such as take pictures record videos and browse the net. So where can we literally see phones going in the next decade or so? Let us take a quick look into this.

Phones are going to change their structure and shape; I can see a lot of handsets actually opening up and becoming full blown headsets with multimedia functions. The new phones are not only going to have great functions but they are also going to be bendy and flexible, so you can wear the phone around your arm like a watch.

Within a decade’s time we could expect desktop computers to be made redundant in offices and our monitors being powered by our powerful smart phone system which we can then use on the go. You will be able to purchase everything on the move on your phone even before visiting a shop.

Phones will no longer be just for calling a phone number, phone numbers may not even exist within the next few years, just names and code digits of the person that you want to communicate with. There is no point even calling phones, phones anymore they will become so much more. They should literally be called an entertainment system because that is what they will be. They may even have small projectors on them that allow you to watch movies and stream TV on the go.

Can You Live Without Your Cellphone?

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

Okay, that could be just a bit of an exaggeration but really, a lot of people just can’t live through their days without having their useful and trusty cellphones close by.  How many people do you know who get all worked-up and listless for the simple reason that they left their trusty cellphones at home?  They panic, they feel frustrated and their day is just basically ruined because their mobile phones are not nearyby.

This kind of affliction – if you can call it that – affects a lot of people from all over the world, regardless of age, sex, culture or those belonging to any other demographic profile.

Before there were cellphones, there were beepers; before there were beepers, there were just the usual telephone lines; and before there were telephone lines, people communicated through telegraph and mails sent by post.

The most important advantage of cellphones of course is that they have made communications anywhere in the world so easy that no matter the distance, everyone somehow managed to stay in each other’s lives – keeping up-to-date with the latest events and basically just being in the loop.

Before cellphones came, people had to wait for days, even weeks to trade news via snail mail.  Sure, one can always make a call but if the person is thousands of miles away; long distance phone calls can be pretty expensive.

Thanks to the cellphone technology, everyone gets to exchange messages no matter how far apart they are from one another via SMS or Short Messaging System/Short Message Service – text messaging in more popular terms.

Today however, cellphones have gone far beyond text messaging and mobile calls.  One by one, special features have been included to the regular cellphone to be able to provide more services to the users.

From phone calls and text messaging, camera features were included and then music players followed; internet capability soon followed suit; wireless internet connection came after; and then online chatting; sending and receiving electronic mails plus other online applications were all thrown in for good measure.

As if that wasn’t enough, people can now also watch their favorite videos and movies; and also watch your favorite TV shows.  Suffice it to say, cellular phones have developed from simple communications gadgets to total entertainment packages in a small and very compact portable box.

If you want to, you can read much more about cellphones online. You might for example wish to visit the website Mobiltelefoner to learn about the latest cellphones and the fantastic things they are able to do.
